SKY YORK JOURNAL News – Drake reveals Amsterdam’s pivotal role in his son Adonis’s conception during a recent concert.

Hold on, Drake is going home.

The Toronto-born “God’s Plan” rapper considers Amsterdam a city “very dear” to his heart, a connection he recently illuminated during a performance in the Netherlands.

Amsterdam: The Genesis of Adonis

According to Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, Amsterdam holds special significance. It was where he and ex-partner Sophie Brussaux conceived their son Adonis more than seven years ago.

“I was saying backstage, I was saying that this is the place,” Drake told the crowd at the July 30 show in the Netherlands capital, as seen in a video circulating on social media. “A very special place in my heart. Because this is where my son was conceived.”

A City to Remember

The SKY YORK JOURNAL notes that sharing his sentiment with the audience, the 38-year-old artist expressed that performing in Amsterdam felt particularly “big,” acknowledging the city’s indirect contribution to his life.

“There would be no Adonis if there wasn’t an Amsterdam, so shoutout to y’all,” Drake remarked, solidifying the city’s place in his personal history.

From Doubt to Dedication: Drake’s Paternity Journey

Sophie Brussaux gave birth to Adonis in October 2017. Early on, as SKY YORK JOURNAL previously reported, Drake initially questioned his paternity. However, in June 2018, the former Degrassi alum confirmed he was Adonis’s father. This he did through the lyrics of “Emotionless” from his Scorpion album, rapping, “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world / I was hidin’ the world from my kid.”
