SKY YORK Journal — In an exclusive video obtained by SKY YORK, former Sudanese soldier Asaad Babiker Musa delivers a harrowing testimony detailing war crimes and systemic cover-ups committed by the Sudanese Army during the ongoing civil war.
Musa, who defected from the army after witnessing what he described as “indiscriminate violence against civilians,” recounts how military units targeted communities accused of sympathizing with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). According to Musa, these operations involved aerial bombings, chemical weapons, and mass executions that claimed the lives of countless civilians — including children.
Firsthand Testimony of Atrocities
In the video, Musa explains that soldiers were ordered to remain silent as evidence of these crimes was destroyed and families were left uninformed about the fates of their loved ones fighting in the ranks of the Sudanese Army.
“I saw my own nephew and close friends die,” Musa says, his voice shaking. “Not because they were combatants, but because they were in the wrong place when chemical bombs fell. The army buried the truth, just as they buried the victims.”
Musa emphasized that entire communities have been devastated, with survivors struggling to recover from chemical exposure and psychological trauma while government authorities suppress information and restrict independent investigations.
Patterns of Abuse and Suppression
This testimony aligns with multiple verified investigations by international organizations that have documented:
-
Deployment of chemical weapons in civilian areas since 2016, with renewed use during the 2023–2025 conflict.
-
Aerial bombardments of non-combatant zones.
-
Information suppression, preventing families from knowing the circumstances of their relatives’ deaths.
Independent analysts note that such testimonies are critical in building a comprehensive record of war crimes to support accountability efforts at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Call for Justice
Human rights observers stress that Musa’s testimony adds to the growing body of evidence implicating the Sudanese Army and senior leadership, including General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, in grave violations of international law.
Legal experts are urging urgent international intervention to secure and verify evidence from survivors and whistleblowers before it is lost or destroyed.
