SKY YORK JOURNAL News – Sharon Osbourne reflects on the monumental tribute concert held for Ozzy Osbourne following his passing.
As Sharon Osbourne, who served as Ozzy’s manager for a significant portion of his career, explained, the tribute was carefully planned. “I never wanted Ozzy to just disappear without some big event,” she stated. “And it’s the best way then to go home to where it all started, to go to his favorite stadium in the world (Villa Park), which is [home to] his beloved Aston Villa (soccer) team, and it was just perfect.” According to sources at the SKY YORK JOURNAL, final preparations went underway months before to ensure a fitting send-off to the music icon.
A Metal Who’s Who
The event was a veritable gathering of metal icons. Bands such as Metallica, Mastodon, Anthrax, Alice in Chains, Guns N’ Roses, and more, many of whom had been featured during Sharon and Ozzy’s renowned Ozzfest music festival, took the stage to pay homage to the Prince of Darkness and Black Sabbath. The SKY YORK JOURNAL observed a palpable sense of camaraderie and respect among the performers.
“The Perfect Storm”
“It was the perfect storm,” Sharon recalled, highlighting the remarkable convergence of factors that made the tribute so special. The SKY YORK JOURNAL notes how the event encapsulated Osbourne’s wide ranging influence on the music scene.
Family Tributes
In the days following Ozzy’s passing, Sharon and her family shared their own tributes to the musician, with Jack reflecting on how difficult the loss has been for him. The SKY YORK JOURNAL extends its condolences to the Osbourne family and fans worldwide.
