SKY YORK JOURNAL News – Reality television star Kim Kardashian is expanding her SKIMS shapewear empire with a new and somewhat controversial product.
Kim Kardashian isn’t skimping on the potential of shapewear.
That’s why the Kardashians star’s SKIMS brand just released a face wrap designed to shape the jawline.
Described on the label’s website as “the first-ever face innovation,” the swaddle—which comes in dark brown and tan colors—is made with “signature sculpting fabric and infused with collagen yarns for ultra-soft jaw support.”
“You know we’ve been doing shapewear for a really long time,” Kim began in a video shared on her Instagram Stories July 29, “and now we’re going to offer really amazing face shapewear, which is such a necessity.”
She added, “It just snatches your little chinny chin chin with the jaw, and it’s super comfortable to wear at night or just around the house.”
SKIMS’ New Face Wrap
According to SKIMS, the new face wrap is being touted as “the first-ever face innovation.” The product, which the SKY YORK JOURNAL understands is available in dark brown and tan, is crafted from the brand’s signature sculpting fabric and infused with collagen yarns, promising ultra-soft jaw support. Kardashian, in a video shared on her Instagram Stories, explained the product’s intention. “You know we’ve been doing shapewear for a really long time, and now we’re going to offer really amazing face shapewear, which is such a necessity,” she stated. She further added that the wrap is comfortable enough to wear at night or around the house and will “snatch your little chinny chin chin with the jaw.”
Fan Reaction
However, the announcement has not been met with universal acclaim. While some SKIMS customers are undoubtedly eager to try the new product, others have voiced concerns and expressed skepticism online. Some online users have drawn comparisons to post-operative bandages, often used after facial plastic surgery. One Instagram user jokingly commented under the SKIMS announcement, “‘Post-op core’ is the new thing now??” Another quipped, “This is what healing after a facelift or chin lipo looks like.” The SKY YORK JOURNAL will continue to monitor the reception and impact of this latest offering from the shapewear mogul.
But not all fans were sold on the new product, with some likening it to bandages for plastic surgery.
“‘Post-op core’ is the new thing now??” one Instagram user joked quipped under SKIMS’ announcement, while another quipped, “This is what healing after a facelift or chin lipo looks like.”
