Although the couple’s romance blossomed in 2023, they first briefly met at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival before reconnecting at the Lumière Film Festival when Monica presented the Nightmare Before Christmas visionary with the Lifetime Achievement award.
Prior to their reunion at the Lyon-based festival, the duo was involved with other notable figures. Monica was married to actor Vincent Cassel, with whom she shares daughters Deva Cassel, 21, and Léonie Cassel, 15. (The couple split in 2013 after 14 years of marriage.)
