Petsch’s comments come after Apa—who played Archie Andrews on Riverdale—recently discussed how stars of teen TV shows can become close during filming.
“You hook up with them, people hook up with each other,” the 28-year-old told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published in August. “You have sex with them and stuff, and then things start happening.”
The actor, who was 19 when Riverdale premiered, continued, “And then things get a little complicated, and then you’re on set, and now you’re fighting with them.”
Apa’s The Map That Leads to You costar Madelyn Cline, who joined him in the interview, asked if “it’s the same in Vancouver,” where Riverdale was filmed.
“You sort of just have sex with them, and then you just sort of see what happens,” Apa said. “It’s just part of the deal.”
He added, “I was a virgin when I started on that show, too, for the first couple years.”
